Soviet Chess Champ Kasparov Schools Bernie Sanders about Socialism

March 14, 2016 By :

Garry Kasparov published a piece in the Daily Beast on Thursday in which he offered a follow-up to his Facebook status criticizing the socialism supported by Democratic presidential candidate Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders that went viral last week.

Kasparov, a Russian chess grandmaster and chairman of the New York-based Human Rights Foundation, garnered widespread social media attention after he published a Facebook post March 1 in which he stated that he was “enjoying the irony of American Sanders supporters lecturing me, a former Soviet citizen, on the glories of Socialism and what it really means!”

“Socialism sounds great in speech soundbites and on Facebook, but please keep it there,” he wrote in a Facebook post that went viral. “In practice, it corrodes not only the economy but the human spirit itself, and the ambition and achievement that made modern capitalism possible and brought billions of people out of poverty. Talking about Socialism is a huge luxury, a luxury that was paid for by the successes of capitalism.”

“Income inequality is a huge problem, absolutely,” he added. “But the idea that the solution is more government, more regulation, more debt, and less risk is dangerously absurd.”

The Soviet Union had been dissolved for seven years by the time the youngest voters in this year’s U.S. presidential election were born. Many Americans — particularly younger ones — no longer associate the word “socialism” with the barren grocery aisles, rampant corruption and concrete walls separating East from West. For them, “Democratic socialism” is the 2016 version of “hope and change.”

Dick Morris teams up with William Kelly’s FreeCapitalismNow.com

March 5, 2016 By :

Chicago, IL  – Dick Morris is teaming up with FreeCapitalismNow.com (FCN) for a national ad campaign to combat attacks on America’s capitalist system.

A national advertising roll out is beginning to hit this week.

The former White House advisor and FOX News contributor released a special video message about the campaign Monday. “This site [FreeCapitalismNow.com] is being launched by some friends of mine in Chicago who are really posing the central question, which is, will our future be socialism or capitalism? That really is the question that is dominating the political season and American thinking.”

Mitt Romney’s selection of Paul Ryan of Wisconsin as his running mate Saturday has further transformed the presidential election into a referendum on the role and responsibility of government.

William Kelly, who founded FreeCapitalismNow.com, agrees that the country is now at an “economic turning point.”

“In recent years, detractors have been very effective in tarnishing capitalism’s image. But capitalism isn’t the problem, it’s the solution,” says Kelly. “We have to rebuild a respect for success in this country and worldwide. We cannot punish people who aspire to wealth and achieve it.”

Kelly says FCN’s initial ads have a pop culture influence and target younger Americans who “have been taught to believe capitalism is wrong.”

The FCN ads pay tribute to iconic ad campaigns by successful Fortune 500 companies, including the Calvin Klein-Brooke Shields ads and Heineken-owned Dos Equis. New ad spots will be released every week through November 2012.

“A new marketing campaign for capitalism is long overdue,” says Kelly. “FreeCapitalismNow.com is going to give it one.”

Whole Foods CEO John Mackey Makes Case for Capitalism

March 1, 2016 By :

Of particular interest – John Mackey discusses Marxism’s dishonesty and how intellectuals have  continued to (purposely?) ignore Adam Smith’s first work, “The Theory of Moral Sentiments,” which explains capitalism’s moral foundation.

Quotables:

“You have to understand the narrative that people have about business and capitalism is that they are fundamentally selfish, greedy, and exploitative,” Says Whole Foods CEO John Mackey. “Of course, I don’t agree with that narrative.”

“There is nothing wrong with making money, but that’s not particularly inspiring. Every other profession in the world, from doctors, teachers, engineers, architects, [and] lawyers, if you ask what their purpose is, it refers back to some type of contribution they are making to other people.”

FreeCapitalismNow.com welcomes ‘2016’ Filmmaker Dinesh D’Souza to Chicago

February 9, 2016 By :

“I am coming to help Chicagoans get the side of the story that has been hidden from them for the last four years.”

‘2016: Obama’s America’ filmmaker Dinesh D’Souza

September 13, 2012, Chicago, Illinois– Filmmaker Dinesh D’Souza will be in Chicagofor a special screening and Q&A about his controversial box-office smash, “2016: Obama’s America.” The event is being hosted by FreeCapitalismNow.com at the Gene Siskel Film Center on September 22nd.

After traveling to exotic locales in Kenya,Indonesia, and Hawaii to uncover Barack Obama’s past, D’Souza finds it fitting to be visiting the President’s adopted hometown and political breeding ground.

“FreeCapitalismNow.com has invited me to come to Chicago for a special screening of my film, ‘2016: Obama’s America,’” D’Souza said. “Chicago may be the President’s adopted hometown but how many Chicagoans know the real Barack Obama? I am coming to help Chicagoans get the side of the story that has been hidden from them for the last four years.”

“Everyone – especially Chicagoans – need to see this film,” says William J. Kelly, Chairman of FreeCapitalismNow.com. “Love him or hate him, discovering Barack Obama’s influences is key to understanding where we are now as a country and where we might be heading. We should never be afraid to question or learn more about our political leaders. That is what America is about.”

2016: Obama’s America has struck a chord.  The film took in $3.2 million at the box office last weekend for a total of $26 million to become the second highest all-time political documentary, passing Michael Moore’s Sicko and Al Gore’s An Inconvenient Truth.

The film’s unexpected box-office success prompted the Obama campaign to issue a statement attacking the film.

At the screening, Chicagoans will have an opportunity to ask D’Souza questions about the film and other aspects of the President’s past. The Q&A will be filmed for an episode of “America’s Instant Townhall,” which is hosted by Kelly, a producer of Emmy award-winning TV.  The episode will  broadcast in fall 2012.

Kelly says that the violence in the Middle East will be part of the discussion. The President’s economic worldview will be another.

FreeCapitalismNow.com is behind a national advertising campaign to counter the attacks on America’s capitalist system. For more information or to purchase tickets for the special screening with Dinesh D’Souza, visit www.freecapitalismnow.com.
